Picked up a free Warthog at JoeCon and needed a new Sgt. Slaughter to go along with it.
The body is Retaliation Roadblock. I originally painted the skin a light tone, but in the end, just painted the head to match the factory Roadblock tone. The head is a resin piece I bought from a fellow tanker last year (sorry - can't find his screen name) which I trimmed and painted. Didn't want a "battle kata" Slaughter so he got new hands from my scrap pile. Recipe: Head: custom resin piece from fellow tanker Body: Retaliation Roadblock. Hands: who knows? |

I think the color works because if we are going by the cartoon then it seems like Slaughter spent a good deal of time outside with a tank top on. Even his tank doesn't have a spot for getting some shade. It's also not that unusual to find wrestlers with a tan except for Sheamus. If it was Sargent Sheamus the figure might look odd but for Sargent Slaughter the skin tone works out nicely since you were able to match the color up well when you painted his head.

Beautiful, that's what I was going to do, too, but I'm not great at mixing paint to match. Was it a stock color you used by chance? :-/

I painted the head with Model Master "wood" enamel (1735). Matches the Retaliation Roadblock skin almost perfectly. I sprayed the finished head with dull coat to seal it which mis-matches it from the body a tad, but the colors match well enough for my eyes. |
