hi there,i am new to customizing figures.i have always wanted a Officer Kroenen fig and since the Mezco version was a rare find in my country,i decided to make one.
i am having problem in keeping the paint on the shoulders and elbow joints intact.the paint kept disappearing each time i moved the joints. i used a combination of Games Workshop and Mr Hobby paints..can't find Testors at any shop here. before painting,i had dunked the figure in warm water for about 5 minutes. any solutions to solving painting the joints? |

Looks pretty cool man. As for the paint issue. I've been told that you can use water to thin the paint out a bit and use multiple coats. I usually will sand down the joints so they don't really rub against each other and that seems to work pretty well.
Where'd you get the trench coat? |

it's probably blindingly obvious, but my brain hasn't warmed up yet, whose upper legs did you use?

I'd suggest using RIT dye to re-color him, this will fix your joint paint rub problem. I just tried it out on a figure that needed an all black outfit and it worked perfectly. And it's easy!
If you don't have RIT dye in your country, how about Sharpie permanent markers? That too might cover up the original paint color, but you'll have to seal it with some sort of dull coat made for models, or an acrylic sealer. |
