I just realized this should go under this forum?
which spawned from: which spawned from: which spawned from: ...unless digital customs don't count! Oh and yes, he's supposed to be a realistic version of Cobra Commander. I guess, in a way, I tried to think of how I'd portray him if I were in charge of the film (don't kill me!). Since I am all for realism (as much as possible), I'd probably have him look somewhere along these lines. He'd still keep some of his trademarks, as I'm sure you've noticed.

its pretty good as far as a "realistic" interpretation of our beloved cobra commander. not too sure about the beret though.
lets be honest here...i think we should all brace ourselves for something along these lines (if we even get this much). the battle mask, if made to be "real" would likely look quite ridiculous...and the hood will NEVER fit and/or flow/hang, like it does in the comics and other artworks. every time i think of how these "outfits" will look on the big screen...i harken back to street fighter. in the 90's Joe woudlve been street fighter...in the 80's, it wouldve been Megaforce. hopefully, here in the mighty 2000's, it will all fall into place. |

Also - I'm wondering if Hasbro will go for a more realistic look for their movie figures. I mean, their 25th line is a mixed bag in terms of realism. Some figures do sport realistic proportions, looks and gear. Others don't (in fact, some are quite "cartoonish").
What will we get, then? Will they be compatible with the 25th stuff in terms of look or only in terms of scale?

thanks!
Forgot to touch on the logo: Since this version of CC wasn't from the cartoon or the comics, I figured I should come up with a different Joe logo for the card. That's when I thought about mixing the old school GIJOE logo with the tri-color stripes from ARAH. Then, I gave it a "worn out" look, kinda trying to imply some, erm, realism, I guess. In a way, I was thinking of it as a possible logo for the movie. It sort of pays homage to the "old and new" at the same time, eh? Dunno if it's been done before though.

This is pretty cool in and of itself, but also interesting to read about now that the movie is out...
