In the distant future, Cobra had nuked and conqured the world, dividing it up between Destro, Cobra Commander, The Baroness, and the twins Tomax And Xamot. Cobra warlords held the lands and virtually enslaved the people who worked them. In the wastelands lurked the rebels and all others trying to escape Cobras grip. Very few ever escaped totally from Cobra...
The Rebel Angels had, but now they were all on the verge of being wiped out to the last man. Matador had reacted to being betrayed by the Baroness and Destro by releasing the Rebels and giving them the nukes, and gave orders to his own troops to stay where they were and battle against both Destro's and Baronesses might airships... A battle Matador knew he had no chance of winning. But there were freedom fighters other than the Rebel Angels... And they were now ready for their strike against Cobra. In a field far from the action sat a very odd aircraft... It was wingless but it could fly very well, and it could take off straight up or land straight down. It held three people; A pilot, a technician with an open laptop computer on his lap, and standing outside stood a robed man with a long brown staff in his hand. The wind was making his robe move uncontrollably. He was looking at the tiny dots of the mighty airships flying distantly overhead. Abruptly a voice rose up from the ground next to the robed figure, "Master, Master."... The robed figure replied "Yes, Mindol... What is it?" At his feet squatted Mindol, his bronze robotic frog-imp: Mindol replied "Incoming message: Message is as follows... The hammers are ready to strike at your command. Will there be a reply?" The robed figured thought a second, then said "Yes. Send back this message... I hear and understand. Message ends." "Sending Message...", replied Mindol, "Message sent.... Incoming reply. Reply is as follows... Call the strike, then get out of there! Machines we can lose, you we can't!" The robed figure thought a long while, then said "Send message... We are safe for now. But if any Cobras come too close we'll be out in a flash. Thank you for your concern. End message." "Message sent.", replied Mindol. In the aircraft itself the pilot was in his seat, listening in to the battlefield communications. The tech was monitoring the movements of both Cobra and Rebel Angel forces on the distant battlefield. Nestled in its niche in the cockpit the pilots' frog-imp sat motionless. Then it spoke out loud... "Cobras all around us... The battle to the east... STILL too close for my comfort." The pilot jokingly replied, "40 miles away is too close for you?" "It's NOT the battle: Its Destros' ground troops..." the frog-imp answered, "The closest unit is fifty miles away but it's still too close for me. The Ariels are tracking all the stragglers heading this way as well... And ONE straggler seeing us is one too many!" "I'd be very surprised if ANYBODY comes within thirty miles away from us!" laughed the pilot: "Not with ME monitoring their movements!", the frog-imp replied. In the cabin the tech sat: HIS frog-imp was squatting next to him, and it was camouflage-painted to match his outfit. The tech was wearing a camouflage outfit that had an ancient G.I.Joe patch on it, but on his head was a Tele-Viper communications helmet. The camo-painted frog-imp was quietly watching the computer screen... Then it spoke up with "Too bad we can't capture a T.A.R.G.A.T. flight system here... But then, they're not our target." "It is too bad...", the tech replied, "But then, a successful hit will send then back the way they came, and out of the battle." The frog-imp laughed, then said, "And all by the book. Do not attack animated troops... Do not approach high mountains." The tech nodded and replied, "Do not attack well-regulated formations, and those who excel at offense move from above the greatest heights of heaven." Abruptly the camo-painted frog-imp croaked a loud croak... Mindol croaked at the exact same instant... Then the frog-imp in the cockpit, and the other two frog-imps, all stated in unison, "INCOMING COBRA TROOPS! Four vehicles and thirty foot soldiers thirty miles away and heading in our direction!" The robed figure gently picked up his frog-imp, turned around, and entered and sat down in the aircraft: Immediately its' door closed and the pilot grabbed the joystick and took off, straight up: He said "I'll find another spot to land, sir!" The robed figure replied "Take your time. They haven't seen us yet and they never will." The aircrafts' silver color began changing to match the sky and cloud formations and after a few moments it had become invisible against the sky. More to come... ' |

Glad to see the RA verse inspired your creativity. Nice story telling! Where are the frogs? I'm intrigued

The aircraft flew unobserved to another desolate spot, then landed. After a few moment, the door opened and the robed figure stepped out and placed his bronze frog-imp on the ground. The tech and his imp were still watching the movements on the battlefield while the pilot and his frog-imp were still watching for any Cobras that could be getting too close.
Half a world away, in the walled fortress that was the capitol of Destros' empire, dusk was rapidly approaching... And the sky was getting more and more overcast... And there were drones flying in the sky unseen by Destros' forces... The robed man looked skyward, at the distant dots that were the two great airships of Baroness and Destro. After a moment, he said very clearly "Send message... The first hammer falls now. End message." His Frog-imp replied "Message sent... Reply coming in. Message is as follows... Hephaetus strikes the first blow." Half a world away, countless ghost drones sped towards Destros' capital. Their bellies opened up and each fired a single missle... And as each drone banked away the missles hit their targets, all of the early warning radar dishes that ringed the capital. Each of them went up in a huge boom that shattered nearby windows. Then from above, came the attack drones... These were very different from the Ghost Drones: These were black, which made them blend into the rapidly-darkening overcast sky. There were 80 in all, half of them with guns attached to them. These immediately swept into the now-open city and opened fire on many different targets... The armed ones began strafing key buildings while the unarmed ones swept unopposed over the airfields: The unarmed ones dropped cluster bombs on the runway in front of the aircraft hangars, which instantly made it impossible to launch any aircraft... And they firebombed all of the access doors and gates to the airfield itself. The Cobra pilots that had scrambled out of their barracks rushed to the airfield and found they were blocked out: They could only watch helplessly as more cluster bombs ripped apart the airfield runways. Other Black Drones were attacking the airship yards... The armed ones were strafing fuel tanks and generator buildings while the unarmed ones were dropping small bombs with nightmare warheads... In these, the warhead was made up of rings of shaped-charge warheads stacked on top of each other: Each ring had 12 shaped-charge warheads that all fired outwards at the same moment, and all the rings were offset so when it went off, it made a 360 degree area of destruction that vaporized everything around it. These bombed the giant cranes and other equipment that was used to maintain the great airships, sending the fiery remains of the gigantic machinery crashing down to the ground. Back at the other battlefield, the airships and T.A.R.G.A.T.s began recieving news of the attack on their capital city... As were all of the Cobra troops on the ground. The robed figure picked up his frog-imp and stepped back into the aircraft, then both he and the tech watched as the battle began to slow down as the T.A.R.G.A.T.s stopped firing and listened in shock as they heard the incoming reports... Reports of widespread attack, of hundreds possibly dead, and of the fires spreading in the city. Matador was likewise watching the sky, as were most of his troops. Then first one Televiper after another began shouting out "Destros capital city is being attacked! There are reports of hundreds dead and the city in flames!". Matador said, mostly in shock, "Who's attacking him... And how?" The robed figure stated "They're getting the reports... and they're naturally confused and in shock." The tech replied "Of course. How would WE feel if the Place Of Wings was hit?" The pilot repiled "Like Hell. And we'd want to get back at the attackers. They won't be able to... As the Book says, If you are near, make the enemy think you're far, and if you're far, make the enemy think you're near." "The battle is dying down... They're torn between staying here and going back.", said the robed man, "Send message. Second strike. End Message." The Frog-imp replied "Sending message... Incoming reply... Second strike, Now!" At Destros' capitol city, the drones broke off their attacks and switched to new targets. The armed drones attacked Destros' headquarters building, strafing the building and making them shut their armored doors and windows... Which the drones attacked with thermite explosives, fusing them shut. The unarmed drones dropped small cannisters over uninhabited areas of the city... The cannisters held fireworks: Both those that gave off a loud bang and others that gave off a bright flash of light. When THESE hit the ground it gave the impression of a large gun battle happening.... And this too was being transmitted out... Destros' airship slowed, then stopped its' forward motion. The T.A.R.G.A.T.s stopped firing as well, all of them talking at once into their radios. The robed man saw all this, via the screen, then said to his frog-imp, "Send message. Final strike. End Message." The Frog-imp replied "Message sent. Incoming reply... Strike done." The unarmed drones broke off their attacks and homed in on their final target... The Baronesses airship had also stopped when Destros' had. And they had heard the reports of the increased attacks and reports of fighting in the city itself... The unarmed drones had a very special bomb that each had carried for one specific target... A far more powerful version of their shaped charge ringed warhead... And they homed in on it and dropped their bomb. The bombs fell downward, and hit their target dead center, the radio towers. They went off, and the bottom thirty feet of the tower vanished: An instant later what was left crashed to the ground. When the radio signals abruptly stopped, silence fell on the battlefield. Then Destros' airship began transmitting "To All T.A.R.G.A.Ts, I am immediately returning to our home port. I will briefly drop low enough to take on any T.A.R.G.A.Ts who wish to come with me. Message Ends!" All the T.A.R.G.A.T.s immediately began flying upward, towards the airship. The airship began to come down to meet them... Its' loading doors opened and the T.A.R.G.A.T.s rapidly boarded it. Then it took off at high speed, back towards its' home city. Baronesses airship circled, uncertain of what to do next. Then they got an urgent message from their capitol city... More like a Scream... All of their early warning radars had been blown apart... And the mighty airship turned away from battle and raced home as fast as it could. The robed man smiled and said "They're gone, both of them. Now to finish the attack." At Destros' city, all of the drones abruptly flew upwards, then they nosed downward and sped towards the ground... And when they hit, they exploded, taking out power lines and warehouses. Immediately the city was plunged into darkness and sheer terror. The robed man stated "The first part is done. Time to go back to the Place Of Wings... And deliver the messengers." "Yes Sir!" replied the pilot as he eased the aircraft off the ground and slowly flew away. More to come. |

Cool drone, is that all made from stryrene? Looks like you cut it symmetrically, did you use any tools? I still have trouble doing that. And the frog is cool but why are they frogs?
Bring on the messengers!

Inside the aircraft, the robed figure said "Now to drop the messengers... Mindol, send message. Deliver the Messengers. End message." Mindol replied "Message sent.... Incoming message, Messengers sent."
Matador and his troops were stunned into shock... Who had attacked Destros' capital? And how? were the questions still running through their minds... Abruptly a Ghost Drone appeared in the sky overhead: It had changed color to a bright red and it was slowly circling the astonished troops below. Matador gaped at it for a few moments then said out loud "A Ghost Drone?... Did... Whoever... do all this?" There was a confused hubbub from the troops aimlessly milling around and looking upwards... The Ghost Drones were rumors: Invisible drones from nobody knew where, and now there was one circling overhead. The Ghost Drone flew slowly downward, passing in front of the group... Then a door opened in its belly and something on a tiny parachute dropped out of it. As the parachute drifted downwards, the Ghost Drone abruptly changed color and vanished against the overcast sky. The object slowly drifted down to the ground and landed with a faint thud. Matador stepped forward to see what it was, but one of his soldiers stopped him:"Sir," he said,"Let me go see what it is... If its dangerous I'd rather you NOT go first." Matador nodded and replied "Yes. Go ahead. But... If... whoever... wanted to hurt us, they would have done so already." The soldier walked cautiously towards the object as the others waited silently: They saw him bend over and pick up and open the small box that was attached to the tiny parachute... Only to abruptly drop it... Then he picked it up again and headed towards Matador. "Sir...", the soldier called out, "Its... Its... I'll have to show you, sir." and walked briskly towards Matador. The soldier walked forward and presented the object... And they all stared in surprize at it... It was a frog-shaped device, garishly decorated. Then it said in a male voice "Matador. I am a Messenger, sent by my masters to warn you to leave quickly." Matador just stared at it in shock, then said "What... What..." :The frog replied "When the two airships left, they were BOTH moving so fast they stirred up the local area, and NOW as a result, major storms are beginning to develop, and those storms are going to develop into a line of tornados that will devastate this entire area. You MUST leave NOW or you will all die!" Matador took the frog from the soldier and carefully examined it... It looked straight at him and said "Yes, I AM a frog robot... I am a Messenger, with the sole purpose of delivering a message to you." Matador stammered "Then who sent you? Were they the ones that hit Destros capital?" The frog replied "My masters sent me. And they did." "Then... Who are your masters then?", Matador asked. "They are of the Temple, so you may call them TEMPLARS. But still, you have to get out fast! Look to the east!" Matador turned and looked... The east was one massive grey cloud, slowly getting bigger and bigger: Then he saw a tornado descend from the cloud and recede back in. Matador snapped out "Pass the word! All units are to withdraw," then glanced west and saw it was clear... "We head west, NOW!" immediately the televipers relayed the messages to the rest of the troops, and within minutes the entire force began moving west. Matador, leading his troops, were now heading west... several miles away from the remains of the town they met up with the rebels. And both of the leaders turned to stare back at the valley... Mutely watching countless tornados tear everything in the middle of the valley apart. Matador began by saying "Messenger...", and was surprized when two voices in unison answered "Yes." The rebel leader said, "We got one too..." showing another frog, "And it told us to leave fast." "And NOW..." both frogs said in unison "Our task is done. What you do now is up to BOTH of you. This bad weather will keep Cobras ground troops from finding you. Whatever you two do now you have to decide on your own. But whatever happens, Cobra will try to hunt both of you down. Our masters suggest that you leave first, then decide what to do." Matador and the Rebel leader looked at each other, then the rebel leader said, "They're right. But we'll have to discuss it later, far away from here." Matador replied "You're right. Later." then both began to walk side by side. "Goodby.", said both frogs, then both gave a loud crack and both shut down for good. More to come... |
