Myself, Daremo, TR1ER, and a few others I can't think of at the moment, have threads that would be worth looking into for various info on this.

I wouldn't mind knowing how to make my own webgear as well, now that you mention it.

various little clasps and stuff can be found at jewelry sections in say your local hobby store or even some walmarts.. and some guys even make them buy bending lil' wire to the desired shape.

For straps you can use the right size of plastic craft lace: http://z.about.com/d/familycrafts/1/...lasticlace.jpg found at most Michaels/Joann's craft stores. It has a smooth surface but you can make impressions on it by heating up a metal nailfile (the ones with horisontial ridges) with a lighter and searing the imprint on there.
For the buckles you'll have to search the same craft stores for the necklace chain with the rectangular links, bend your own wire, or sculpt individual buckles using Apoxie sculpt. Making ones from apoxie sculpt really isn't that difficult. You let to apoxie sculpt sit for longer than you normally would until it starts to get very firm then roll it out and cut your buckle squares out of it. Then use the sharpened head of a mini flat-head screwdriver and cut the inside of the buckle out. Press the buckle frame against the web gear before it cures completly so it kinda conforms around the sides. |
