Following this humble redesing, here's my take of a modern Barbeque.
Recipe is relatively simple: -Head: RoC Barbeque -Torso/arms: RoC Arctic Doc -Legs: 30th Hazard-Viper -Feet: RoC Barbeque -Hands: Arctic Tele-Viper -Axe: RoC Elite-Viper -Backpack: 25th BBQ (Hazard Viper, alternative) -Water-gun: 30th Hazard Viper No paint needed, just depainted the yellow crotch (is casted in orange). If you leave it painted, you'll barely see it anyways. The oranges don't match exactly of course, but looks like the pants are dirtier than the jacket, which actually makes sense. 25th BBQ legs match almost perfectly though. You can keep the blue Doc hands, but you'll need something else blue. My suggestion would be Hazard Viper's backpack, or keep Doc's rescue backpack. Blue feet might work, like Snow Serpent's officer.

I really like PoC Blowtorch colors and gear, but some issues where getting on my nerves, like troublesome articulation and rough paint.
So, most of teh work is technical stuff. -Carefully carved up some more room where the elbow attaches and on the armpit, where the arm touches the chest, so it has more movement. Arms now can bend at 90º and hold accesories correctly. -Repainted all the padding. I really like the colors, but there where too many splotched paint, or was missing. Fixed that and added a very subtle wash to highlight certain details. -Upgraded flamethrower. The buttstock was too long, so I simply cut it off, drilled a hole, and put it back. Now it's extendable/removable. Added a tiny hole so a flame can be attached (from SW Shae Viszla).

"Hey guys, is this the brighty-suits brigade?"
Scoop was made as an experiment. Recipe is relatively simple: -Main figure: Stalker -Hands: Snake Eyes -Head: PoC White Out -Vest: PoC Steel Brigade -Helmet: Ace Stalker can be depainted completely, except the lower legs which should be made carefully since it's black plastic base (using too much acetone will dpeaint the yellow too). The shoulder have a green stripe, something it doesn't bothers me. Helmet and vest greens don't match exactly, but doesn't bothers me neither. Basically, Scoop can be made with almost no paint, just the black leg straps. I still need the accesories, and maybe i'll make some touch ups, but it's basically finished.

Thanks!
I know it's not some crazy stuff, but works well, since the idea was to make simple, non-paint customs. Thanks Batty! Quote:
No, it's the dvd (that's why i linked the figures) Thanks for looking!

OK I must say all three figures are awesome!
First of all, BBQ looks very realistic. It´s something great altogether the fact that you can base a figure on your own design. That´s insane. As for the figure, it has a very realistic tone. Unmatching pants and parka shouldn´t be a problem, since in some cases realistic uniforms aren´t exactly the same color. They may even look somewhat dirtier, as you say. Blowtorch´s arms are a real pain in the butt, so I guess you´ve done a great job. Improvements over the flame thrower are a great addition. It´s really beyond me why the flamethrower didn´t have a hole. You can really tell where the padding was improved, but I can´t seem to realize where you applied the wash. It must be really subtle. That flame... looks familiar doesn´t it? ;) I was wondering how you carved the hole into it. Scoop is really nice, it has a 25th feeling to it. Now, did you get to depaint the camo stripes and not the yellow base or you added extra paint? I was wondering if this could be done, it seems so. OK, all this stuff is pretty impressive. The most important is that you can get an impressive figure like BBQ or Scoop without having to make heavy changes or have advanced painting skills. Now Blowtorch, that´s a killer one. Thumbs up man!!! Last edited by supersonicshion; 10-30-2012 at 12:13 AM.. |
