Wow. Just... wow. If Hisstank ever makes a Custom Hall of Fame sticky thread this bad boy (along with that realistic Skystriker to Jolly Rogers F-14 Tomcat conversion) needs to be on it. Pure awesomeness.

I knew that customizing could improve figures, but I never realized that it could be done to this degree.

Hey thanks! Total hours? Not sure really, but a few here and there over a week, roughly. The wrist gauntlets were made from the tomax/xamot bracelets modded, with a piece of styrene added for the upper section, then a small strap added around the top.
BTW update: I've started on the Sideshow Cobra trooper! I'll try to get some pix up this weekend. |

For those that can't find micro canvas, textured cardstock for scrap booking is a poorman's substitute. You get a 10x10 page for 59 cents at Michaels or hobby lobby. the fibers don't fuzz much, it retains a textured look that while not as detailed looks good enough, is strong enough to not snap, and can be painted to seal it a little better.
Obi, if you ever need buckles, good stuff to go has a supply section with buckles and strap adjusters that might just be small enough. I haven't used them myself but they look small enough for 1:18 |

Cool. Normally I make my own buckles/adjusters from styrene, which do nicely, but I think someone needs to professionally produce 1:18 items like these. They'd really be useful for a lot of customizers out there.
