My brother got Alpine when we were younger and I ended up comandeering him for my army. I thought it was cool to have a mountain climber, and his gear was cool, too.
I got the DVD set just for Alpine, and I was impressed. I thought it was a great figure. Mine came with a backpack, by the way, so I count myself lucky. Just as with most of my 25th collection, I get figures that I like, and sometimes I put my own little spin on them to either update them or make them more like the original version than Hasbro did. I offer a few pictures of some tweaks I did -- nothing major. It took mere minutes for these things and didn't necessarily change the overall appearance. Also, I show how I situate his "gear", as I know there was a thread about this yesterday. I added rope to his backpack that originally cmae from Beachhead's backpack. I figure a mountain trooper can't have too much rope. I also added the little ring thingys (clamps, clasps, whatever you call them) that I took off of the alien Snake Eyes figure. Gun courtesy of Marauder John. I think it closely resembles Alpine's original.

The little metal clasps are called carabiners. Very nice job. I love tweaking the figures out to make them perfect and unique.
