This one was from the same project as Woofer. Monsoon started as this:
Head: Funskool Tunnel Rat (later modified with TF Recondo '88 hat) Torso: Paratrooper Guile '94 Arms: Cobra Commander '05 Waist: Laser Viper '01 Legs: TF Tripwire '88 And it became: Gun: Unknown modified with Payload '93 gun tip Backpack: Spearhead '88 (modified) Bio: Monsoon worked as a mercenary in Asia and South America for different guerilla groups and drug lords. Extremely skillful in jungle warfare. Came in touch with Cobra when he sneaked up Gnawgahyde and a couple of Range Vipers on a patrol to find out what they were doing. With a knife to his throat Gnawgahyde nervously convinced Monsoon, instead of killing him, to offer his skills to Cobra Commander and earn big money. Monsoon has a preference for doing missions in rainforests, especially during the monsoon when normal people stay sheltered. Monsoon most likely has a background in special forces, but it is unknown where he's originally from. Building notes: Tunnel Rat's head is quite recognizable. I did my best to change it into something very different, adding a beard and Recondo's hat. The arms seemed to be cast in a soft plastic. That was hard to work with, which is visible at the elbow joints I like this custom a lot. Every time I look at him, a little voice tells me he looks too good to be a Cobra. |

You do some really clean paint apps. Very nice. Cool camo pattern.

Looks great and the bio makes the character. My only crits are that I'd remove the camo stripes on the vest and the beard needs somethings...

Cool, that's exactly what I was going for. Quote:
The beard maybe does look a bit too "clean", yes. |

There is something about vintage figures that is irreplaceable for me. They have a feel about them that dont get from any other Joe incarnation.
Nice weapon choice It really makes the figure along with the paint app. |

Thanks, P-fan.
I'm satisfied about the gun too, it was a minor change, but it improved the look of it IMO. |
