I've been working on/off on a custom dungeon/crypt/lab for awhile now and got around to making one of the key components of any dungeon/crypt or dark lab....Skulls!
Yes, you can't be creepy without skulls. The more the better. The base of the skull is a cast of a toy skull that was pretty crap for detail. I then carved all the details I could into the skull. For example all the suture lines, mastoid processes, spaces under the zygomatic arches, etc. I tried to make them as accurate as I could. I'm still experimenting with materials and washes. These skulls have a Games Workshop wash over them. They look old, very old and perhaps even dug-up. I overdid it with the amounts, so I'll tone it down on the next round. I'd like a lighter wash too, but only have the one for now. The wash does do a good job finding it's way into the sutures and making them stand out. I put a couple joes in a few shots so you can see the scale. They are slightly too big, but not too bad. The last pic does a good job showing scale. I could always pose 'em with the 7-pack scarlet melon head too Lemme know what ya think. |

These should definitely be up for sale, sick looking! There are so many uses for those, even if they're not set up to fit on a ME neck.

Those are fantastic dio skulls...agree just a tad out of scale, but those would look badass in a dio.
There's this guy, his name is Jesse...he casts like a mofo. You should share the love (or crank out a bunch of these and sell them yourself - I'd be down for several). |
