I've posted a few basic kitbashes previously, but this is my first attempt at a legit custom. Well, there's no painting involved, but I did actually glue shit for this one, so that counts, right?
Anyway, I've been waiting for a halfway-decent Punisher figure for ages. Hasbro came close with their Marvel Universe figure - I mean, shit, look at that amazing head sculpt - but it missed the mark in several ways. First of all, The Punisher is an ex-military guy. So where's the gear? And look at those comically-oversized hands with the wide-open grips...the only weapons he can hold with those goofy things are the silly Super Soaker-style guns that he comes with. I mean, there's a great base figure there, but he needs some work. THAT's more like it, right? The first thing I did was swap out the shitting default hands with Retaliation Roadblock's hands, giving him the ability to now hold G.I. Joe weapons; in the right hand, Leatherneck's M16; in the left, the Cobra Shock Trooper's shotgun. The webgear is from the Dollar General Cobra Trooper. I'll get into the changes I made to it in a moment. On the right leg I Krazy Glued the PoC Wave 3 Snake-Eyes holster and knife sheath (I got 'em from 30th Stalker). Really, is there any better sidearm combo from any Joe figure ever? On the left leg, I glued the PoC Wave 3 Snake-Eyes thigh pouches (again, I got 'em from 30th Stalker), mostly just to even out the load. Pretty bad-ass looking, huh? And finally, the webgear. The knife sheath on the shoulder comes from Resolute Stalker. The two smoke canisters are from PoC Beachhead, as are the two ammo clips by his right hip. Overall, I think it's a huge improvement over the base Punisher figure...clearly, he's now ready to wipe out the criminal underworld. A shout-out to my main man Mermaniel for the tips. Let me know what you think, peeps!

I love that fugly-ass head for some reason. But he does indeed look much, much better with the extra gear you stuck on him.

Ah yes, the baby faced Monkey paws Punisher. What is it with Hasbro and babies? Anyway, this look really good with the gear. I skipped on this figure because of the sculpt, but with the new better looking wave 2 Frank on the way, I'll probably end up stealing this design to some degree and adding it to that figure.
