Good work. Surprised Hasbro hasn't made Recoil yet.

This looks great, Gene! I like the mag pouches a lot better than simply attaching them to the webgear. The sculpted holster is perfect!

For months, I had debated on using that ROC Dusty as either Freefall (FREEFALL (v1), YOJOE.COM | YoJoe.com: Dedicated to the G.I.Joe of the 80's, 90's and beyond!) or Recoil. Since my last Slayer order never happened, I had given up on Recoil since the iconic hat/head really makes the figure, and the Recoil sculpt was in that purchase. So I used the Dusty for that Freefall, giving up on Recoil.
But after seeing this in use, I may just have to either buy a second one, or figure out another solution for a body for Freefall, since this works REALLY well for Recoil. Great job on the webgear. Is that a Lifeline head, or a cast of the LL head? And like others asked, did you Dremel the vintage head to get the hat, or is that a Raginspoon cast? Anyways, great job on one of my favorite figures from childhood. Recoil is one of the few late 80's/early 90's characters who still looked military without getting all goofy like a lot of the others of the time. |
