I've been reading up on everyone's mod tips for a while now and finally decided it was time to try it out. Decision was made easily today because I picked up the green shirts and was very dis appointed when I tried to pose them. Started on a couple of them and got hooked. I also modded my new TRU SRO set. I also worked on Duke's diaper crotch. A couple more times and I'll be ready to fix the main characters. The only problem I encountered was one of the green shirts's hands were locked in position(paint?). When I tried to twist them, they just broke off. Hopefully I'll get a dremel for Christmas ;) and figure out a way to make new posts for the arms. Any suggestions? I think everybody should fix their restricted joes it's very satisfying! Next on the list....learn to split the torso(hopefully it goes as smoothly)

Good job! I try to get around to trimming of bits of elbow and shoulder (and crotch on the older figs) on all my figs. I'd like to try increasing the torso range of movement, but it's a bit tricky to see how to do it. I think I remember somone fairly recently doing it though (and using plastic polish to finish).

You should try swiveling the body around(so you have better access to it) and cutting into the top of the front lower chest and creating a longer slide position so they can do a "crunch" motion. I have done this to every 25th I have bought. Huge difference

Nice mods. If you decide to get another Green Shirt pack run the hands under hot water, put it under a hair dryer, or boil it so the wrist joints won't break off. Doing any of those things will soften the plastic allowing you to turn the joint that was stuck.

I think increased range at the elbows, chest shoulders (so they could cross their arms further accross the chest) and ball jointed wrists would make the 25th Joes the perfect example of playable articulation. |

I love that pic of DOC with the "demolitions gone wrong" Greenshirt.
Greenshirt: "Two days to retirement,....." Doc: "Nooooooooo!!!!!,.......Okay who needs a flu shot?" |

the best way and easiest way i have found to crack open a torso is the vise method...
-get a vise -wrap figure in textureless soft cloth about a quarter inch thick at his shoulders leaving his head poking out -place fig in vise, shoulders against the jaws -slowly close vise making sure fig shoulders stay against jaws -you should hear a pop when the torso "cracks" open -done! this is a very easy method and it has to fail me or destroy a figure...plus there is no fear of accidently razoring two fingers and a thumb (true story) to get them open...practice on all the spare Dukes, CCs, Destros you may have lying around |
