its actually a mix of a testors model masters yellow and a tamiya yellow...the tmm was too thin and the tamiya too thick...it took a freaking zillion coats on the arms even after primer

Dammit, Eddie. Your flesh tone matches perfectly. Mine came out slightly too dark.
I still like the Gung Ho head, but I am keeping my D5 head on mine for now. You know, with all the Gung Hos G.I. Joe keeps hiring. It's like one of those bad Eddie Murphy or Martin Lawrence movies where he plays 8 characters. I could NOT get my torso on Copperhead cracked open, did you have luck? I tried all 3 methods and gave up, after scratching him under the arm (paint hid it mostly though) and slightly warping his back with the screwdriver method. And I am NOT taking an Xacto to a 1:18 man, I enjoy my fingers and interal-blood too much. it took me forever to match up that tone, but i finally got it and i made whole little jar of it...wish i knew my own rescipe...as for cracking oopen torsos, man i am telling you, get a vise!...it is the only way to do it... - wrap fig in soft cloth around shoulders about three layers thick so head still pokes out - put in vise so shoulders are aginst the jaws - slowly close vise making sure fig doesn't twist to the front/back position - when fig "pops" you are done, unwrap and enjoy not having cut yourself or your figure up...if it still seems like it needs more cracking, put him back in and give him more hell this method has not once failed me...i have not once lost a figure to this method...i love it!...it takes under a minute to open one up...no stress no injuries |
