thanks,I was thinking it was going to be him or my version of spawn I wanted to do the real cloth thing and that head screamed Sub to me so that's why I landed on him...and yeah the hood does not look as good as some of my past ninjas..I don't even know if it's the shape of the head under it or the stitches/pattern that got funny on me..sometimes when I try to make the top really tight it doesn't always fit snug across the skull.. |

2 - that material is trying to hold it's shape on a plastic head. Material is your choice of course, but to combat the material from wanting to slide up and off the slick plastic...it needs to have some form of anchor towards the bottom. Either make the mask tighter under the chin, or maybe think about creating a different seam pattern/placement. Look at the Res comic pack SS, or PoC Beachhead as examples of a "middle" strip on top. That might work better. The shapes of the pattern pieces will most definitely play a huge role in how it fits also. Don't forget that! Last edited by Obi-Shinobi; 07-10-2012 at 09:25 AM.. |

great work on the custom. I agree with Obi. Another trick I have seen used is to coat it with glue on the inside (use a donor head coated to keep hood from drying to head), pull it tight to the head and allow to dry.

1 - you're using a slick material, from the looks of it.

I have had a lot of success with this material and keeping it relatively flat on top..I think I might try making the bottom tighter..but this might bomb cause this mask is kind of a bitch to get on as is any tighter I might be asking to scratch the hell outta his face eek! |

Right on, bro. Try a few different techniques until you find what works best.

I think this is better
and now he can look up without showing his bare neck I just sewed it closer together cut it lower and put the stitches very close to the edge so the mask pulls apart almost flat when it's worn if I took some of his hair down he would look even better BUT I'm not going to cut his head down anymore already took sooo much of it off Last edited by IIIzoeIII; 08-14-2014 at 06:46 AM.. |
