I've never done much in the way of customs, but I've been wanting to do an Oktober Guard vehicle. I thought I'd throw it on the forum, since there are so many talented folks out on this board, who could hopefully point me in the right direction.
I was thinking a smaller, quick strike vehicle would be the way to go, using a 6WD Desert Fox or even the smaller Desert Strike as a base and go from there. (The other option would be to create a mobile command vehicle, possibly using the 2005 ROCC.) Any thoughts? |

You Can't Go wrong with AWE strikers, they are Multi-Purpose, Dependable, cheap for the russians. and they are readaly avalible in the current vehicle line. oh and i could see letherneck plus a snow serpent as horrorshow.
I'm doing a AWE's for every occation line and horrorshow is one of the ideas i came up with for the extra leathernecks i'd accumulate. not to mention leatherneck in gree and Sgt. Slaughter's Whathod Driver outfit |

If you have some model building skillz, I'd armor the awestrikers or vamp up with polystyrene, to look like the vehicle in the Duke/Red Star comic pack.
But man, what I'd give for a 1/18 Hynd. |

A Hynd would be awesome. Definitily a choice Oktober Guard vehicle.

For something a little bigger, the Jungle Cutter from the Indiana Jones lines is a good Russian vehicle to use for thr OG too.

I always thought this custom I made had a very russian feel to it. Maybe its the round headlights, but it may give you some ideas.

Thanks for the ideas so far! I hadn't even thought about the new AWE Strikers, but the fact that my Joe army already has two... I was hoping for something less recognizable. The Indiana Jones Jungle Cutter has a nice Russian look, but WAY beyond my skill to do a custom.
Fireflyed - That's a GREAT custom! Awesome job! What did you use to make that? The missiles look like those from the Cobra Adder... And it definitely has a sort of "boxy" Cold War era feel to it. |

A modified looking T-72/80 would be most righteous.

Yeah, an Oktober Guard tank would be sweet. But I'm leaning towards a BTR-40 variant.
