This was a sweet '78 Ford Bronco I picked up from Walmart, from the Imagination Adventure Series Bass Pro Shop line. Pretty nice vehicle - it came with a large canoe, oars, a ridiculously undersized spare tire, and a detachable front brushguard with working winch. Mine was orange with a white cap, but I read on a Bronco site that there were other colors available.
My two problems with the vehicle: the tires are too big (wide), and the windows are all painted on. Otherwise, I am stoked to have this to add to my Joe collection. It took a while to figure out how to dismantle it - you have to pull apart the front tires, and there's another set of screws up in the wheel well at the front. Taking the vehicle apart also reveals that there is another set of screws that holds the cap on, and you have yourself a working tailgate also. When it came down to customizing it, I removed the section of plastic that kept the "bed" divided from the front. This involved a large amount of cutting and making as smooth as possible. I also trimmed away some of the windows at both doors, making them larger. Then, I scrubbed it, painted it, sealed it and photographed it. In the future I may add some better seats, and I'd like to install a rollbar. I'd also like to replace the tires on it. But all-in-all this took me 4-5 hours to do this afternoon. |

That's awesome. Makes a great "jungle" vehicle for Tiger Force.

I disagree. I had an '83 that I bought in Texas, drove to Pennsylvania, shipped to Alaska and then drove back to Pennsylvania - and I took the route through the Yukon, not the ferry to Washington. And it's still running to this day. Although I won't hype up any vehicle brand - they'll all keep running as long as you know how to take care of them, and maintain them regularly. I love Broncos.
