has anyone one on here made hemlet straps. I tried doing it, but I was unsuccesful, I tried using very thin nylon and the holes on the sides, but its just didn't look/work right

I haven't made any helmet straps, but I'd try using green stuff. You can make it whatever size you want, add detail, and it's somewhat flexible when it dries. I may give this a shot, I always like a good challenge.

Maybe masking tape folding onto itself? Then add on a buckle with green stuff.
