Awesome! A lot of people discount the necessity and effectiveness of the mortarmen/indirect fire infantryman these days...nice to see them getting some love. Especially in such a cool set up.

All of them are from various Short Fuze figures. There are some minor differences between the three, but nothing significant. Of course, I always loathed the fact that Short Fuze's mortar utilized the upper saddle as the sole bipod attachment point. I don't think I ever once fired the weapon like that, so all of these were chopped and modified to use the lower saddle. Strange that I found that so annoying, yet I was fine with the fact that they don't have a sight unit... Last edited by Sgt Humpty; 03-27-2012 at 05:01 PM.. |

Bah! You can't pick up artillery, run two or three hundred meters and set it back up. The Marines referred to the 60mm mortar section as the "Company Commander's Hip-pocket Artillery". Meaning that it was always there for him, never reassigned to a more important unit.
It's always nice to have internal assets that can't be taken away. All of them are from various Short Fuze figures. There are some minor differences between the three, but nothing significant. Bummer for me though...I don't have any Short Fuze figures or accessories and I've yet to see any mortars anywhere. Of course its very possible that I haven't looked hard enough... Also diggin' your shelving dio set-up. Very slick! |
