I received my wave 10 figures today and, well, Duke didn't last the night. I kind of like the way the 25th Leatherneck looks as is, other than the old Duke arms. So I swapped them out for the newer TF Duke arms.
I cut off the forearm pegs from Duke and glued them onto Leatherneck to make this as simple as possible. I also did the usual trimming to allow his arms to bend a little more. I need to spend a little more time color matching the skin tone.

Yeah, looks great. Honestly I was shocked by how much I actually like Leatherneck (Minus the Duke arms of course). Your simple modification is something Hasbro should have and could have easily done to make him even better.

It looks like leatherneck is one of those figures that has potential with all the little mods people are making.

That's a good mod, Mod! I didn't notice it before, but he has such simple construction: Gung-Ho head, Buzzer torso with Duke arms, and Snow Job legs. Not too hard to duplicate...
