Hey guys!
Well, like many of you, im pretty disapointed with leatherneck and started on my own custom. But Ill still be left with this AWE striker figure. So I decided to make a few simple changes to make him vintage accurate a bit more. I took his belt off, turned it around, cut off his upper grenades and glued them to his chest. then I took the knife from wild weasels left pocket and cut off the pouches on both sides of it and glued it to leathernecks belt harness. You could do it with any small knife but this one looks nice since the hilt matches his colors. maybe Ill switch his lower legs out when I get some matching tan paint. As for the grenades on his belt still, Ill be cutting them off to use them for another custsom figure in the works..... Anywho, i know its a simple little fix but it makes such a difference for the figure. and hides that retarded buzzer shoulder armor. |

Much to the dismay of several folks on here, I am also about cutting stuff off my 25th figures. For example: You know those plastic swords that are belted onto IG Destro and Iron Grenadier Trooper? I took an exacto knife, and cut those suckers loose. I then put the belt back on each figure, and did the same think to the Cobra Commander figure that came with Tripwire. There is something about those plastic swords that just drives me nuts. I also cut the "opening flap" off my HISS Driver's holster. That thing really got on my nerves, so now HISS Driver holsters his pistol in an "open" position. Blackhawk makes a holster that allows a person to keep a Glock 22 holstered without a flap. A plastic release button allows the pistol to be released and pulled quickly. I figure that's what HISS Driver has going for him in any "quick draw" situation that arises. I Just dont see why hasbro couldnt do what I did in the first place. I mean they even left that stupid skull belt buckel on leathernecks harness! I think i may cut off the sword to CC, but IG vintage toys did have it attached to their belts, so that one stays. Though they are cumbersome and get in the way im sure lol. I like the holster flaps to an extent. some of them are so huge its horrible though like red stars. leathernecks is actually really thin and small.
