Skull Casts! Got my DVD set from HTS today. Looked at Montezuma's skull and thought I need a lot more of those. Made a quick mold and spent the rest of the day casting. I can make 3 types from the mold, open mouth, closed mouth and no jaw. They will work great with a couple Indy customs I will be working on and the new zombie contest. Let me know what you think. I would actually like to know what type of resin that was used in this process. If you have the time, would you please outline the process and what products you used?

I'm also interested in the buying. Or the learning how to do the making.

Put a quick wash on one, and popped it on a trooper. Works out well. I will be making a few available, but it may take awhile to get them done.
As for making them. I just made a simple box mold using rapid 1 to 1 silicone from micromark. It's great for quick low yield molds. I then cast it in easyflo 60 tinted with cast'n craft pigments. Most of the stuff can be found at micromark.com. Ryan |
