Most of these were shown on Joecustoms when i was still posting there, but there pics are so small and blurry (black is so hard to photograph) and I have since invested in nice repro decal sheets to really bring out the love on these older pieces.
Command HISS 2-this thing is ROUGH on the styrene and filler work compared to what i have done more recently, but i still think the concept is solid. I think of it as a 788th armored division advanced recon scout or maybe a transport for non-tank personnel. And my HISS 4 remake, which is rough as hell compared to the work i am capable of now. The thing barely stands up, it is so front heavy. the basic idea was taking the HISS 4's lower slung armored cockpit and troop transport capability and making it a bit more HISS tank looking. The reads are too damn short though, but it looks cool. Even with larger images and a better camera, i still have a hard time taking pics of these.

These are amazing! If there's anything rough on these pieces then you must be one helluva photographer because I don't see anything remotely rough. I honestly can't tell where Hasbro ends and you begin. I especially like the command Hiss 2. Where did you get the computers and screens and stuff for the dashbord in the command area? That stuff looks sweet. Great use of the radar dish from the surveilance port as well. I would have thought that something like that on a tank would stand out and look out of place, but that thing looks cool as hell. Really great. Do you have problems adhering styrene to the molded toy plastic? Does it tend to come loose over time? The repro decals really stand out bright and crisp. Where did you get them? I really love customs like this. Well envisioned, creative and well executed. Got any more?

Thanks a lot, man! Yeah, I have a ton more I'll post over time, many were on another site but it doesn't get a ton of traffic.
The biggest problem with raw styrene can be it looks out of place without extensive finish work. Think of it this way, imagine repairing a really nice piece of furniture, like a leg on a chair, with a chunk of unfinished white pine. Sure, it'll work, but it won't look right unless you do some work to it. The rougher areas won't come out on camera, but there are just broad areas of flat styrene that I glued bits to, like model parts, old backpacks, etc. On the Command Hiss especially, because those computer screens and what not you are talking about are the top section of the rear vehicle from a Maggot(under the turret). Joining that with the HISS 2 left huge gaps, so that is where it looks "rough"-er, but I didn't photograph it in too much detail. The repro decals come from a guy named JRuben in Mexico. I haven't had the extra cash to place an order for a while, but he can be found on Ebay. He does top notch work, and offers a TON of different sheets, mainly because so many collectors have been supporting him by sending him scans of decal sheets. i think i sent him at least 30 in one big batch last year. I need to place a huge order with him, i just haven't had the time and cash.
