I wish I knew how to paint heads better. I can't stand Spirit's ugly mug or Ace's weird eyes.
I guess I could drop a few $$$ on your stuff and give it a go.

Some things that may help:
Testors make several different flesh tones that work very well practically right out of the bottle. Occasionally you'll have to mix one or two together to get a unique shade, but it's not hard. Polly S(cale) also makes very good paint for resin heads. Always wash cast parts in acetone before painting. It helps the paint stick. Factory parts should be washed in 91% Isopropyl alcohol. When painting eyes on a flesh painted part, paint the eyelash first, frame the underside with the white, frame the edge of the white with flesh, then use a toothpick for the dot. When painted parts with unpainted flesh, do the same but use a brand new Xacto to trim back any blobs or oops that stray over a set line. Also, try using a 20/0 or 30/0 liner brush to paint the lines. If your paint is thin, you should be able to lay a line down just right with practice. Clearcoat with a brush on flat clear, Testor's Dullcote, or Krylon flat clear and let it cure for 24 hours before handling. Hope that helps. Last edited by Alyosha; 10-08-2008 at 02:34 AM.. |

I need to save this to a document for later reference - Thanks! |
