I have some of these guys. You did nice work on the lower body, they have pretty poor range of motion out of the box. You replaced the non working scabbard with a working one too, correct? I am looking forward to seeing the hand painted shields as well. great job.

Thanks everyone. I know this isn't the "norm", but I wanted to do something a little outside my own typical fare. Besides, I've always wanted Knight figs anyway.
And something I just thought of last night... you could almost say this is a medieval version of a "green-shirt" fighting a "blue-shirt". Didn't plan it, but it's kinda weird. Foamboard base, spray adhesive for the grass and gravel, "project bricks" for the structures, craft sticks, paint. Plus a little bit of imagination! Quote:
YES! "Project Bricks". Very easy to work with, and come in a few colors. I picked mine up 2 years ago, on sale for $5 a box, which comes with 280 bricks. If you do plan on making something, or a few somethings... buy several boxes. You'd be amazed how fast you can run out of the bricks. And I also used "FabriTac" glue. It's really good with styrofoam, allowing you to play with the positioning of the pieces for a moment before it sets. And it's a bit less messy than hot glue. |

Yes, I used a JOE waist with the very upper halves of the thighs (above the screw), to retain the AoA thigh swivel. Scabbards/belts are hand made, since I went back and hand made the swords, as well as the other weapons. Shield art. As soon as I figure out exactly what I want on them, I'll get to it. Since these are 1200s Knights, they would have simple, early designs. Nothing so elaborate as later periods. Basic chevrons, horizontal and vertical splits, etc. We'll see. |

Saracens VS. Templars would be so epic... (Kingdom of Heaven is 1 of my all-time fav films) these look VERY tight tho
P.S. some of those Prince of Persia figs can be found real cheap & would make for great Saracen customs - along w/ some Indy Jones figs if ya can find 'em...? P.P.S. U might be onto sumthin' w/ the greenshirt vs. blueshirt medival theme --- a Persian styled StormShadow vs. a Templar styled SnakeEyes??? Last edited by BL4CK5H33P; 02-19-2012 at 06:48 PM.. |
