I got inspired by one of my favorite snakes and the Cobra Sea Krait was born! It was only fitting that I used my favorite Cobra vehicle to make it out of too.
I had the idea to make this hydrofoil more of a heavily armed Mass element recovery vehicle with a rapid deploy dive team. I used the crane off a TTBP and dremeled out a hole in the hull to attach it. I then took a Night Landing raft and fitted it with metal ring screws and a custom made chain for it to be hoisted with. To get it to sit and look right, I had to remove the Moray's engine and cover and instead use that space as recovered Mass element storage. One can just imagine the engine being below deck and not outwardly visible anyway. A set of decals from CobraStickers.com and a sweet looking reproduction lens from fellow Hisstank member Hotdog, and I was finished. Thanks to a friend, I have been real keen on the look of modern figures in vintage vehicles so that is what I decided to do. I drilled out their foot holes (except for the dive crew cause of the fins) so they are fully compatible with the vintage pegs. I customized 3 of the 7 figures with it, a Copperhead, a Cobra Diver and an Eel. Hope you like it! Last edited by GIJoeJunkyard; 03-01-2013 at 11:51 AM.. |

I was blessed to see this in person from almost the begining. VVT work is second to none in my opinion. He is also legendary on here for his My Little Skystriker and Hazard HISS. Just wait to see what he is unveiling next!

This is really incredible! The hydrofoil is one of my all time fav vehicles and your take on this one is awesome! Really great work! Love the matching fig too. The paint and attention to detail is superb. The crane with the life boat (small boat) is great.

great work! just one critique, and not even a major one at that. I think your lampreys would benefit with a paint job to tie it in with the boat and copperhead, the light blue just sticks out a little too much, IMO.

i love this color scheme...i love what you did with the vehicle and the figures...
i'm a big fan of a vehicle matching the color of the figures that come with it and vice versa. |
