Here's another addition to my ongoing project, G.I. Joe: Heroes & Villains. If you'd like to see the previous figures in the line, here's
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...nake-eyes.html and http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...commander.html And now I'm adding the incomparable Storm Shadow. This guy was A LOT of work. Probably the most work I've ever done on a single figure. I took me the better part of the day today, but I'm fairly satisfied with the finished product. What do you guys think?

SS looks great! Are you using the MU bodies? The Cobra Commander is awesome, too!

Thanks for your feedback, chaps. In this line, I'm going for a more animated, or comic book-ish look. So the ultra thin, lithe build is exactly what I wanted for Storm Shadow. He looks kind of like Sigma Six, don't ya think? That's what I was trying to do, anyway.
I want to break down the parts list and methodology for this guy, just because it was so much work. I'd hate to deprive you of all the details, lol. Head - Renegades Firefly Torso & arms - MU Namor Hands - MK Scorpion Pelvis & thighs - MU Moon Knight Ankles & feet - MU Modern Ironman Hood - Slayer Tunic - random piece of fabric Bandolier - made from scratch with elastic cord and a piece of POC Storm Shadow's sash Belt - MK Cyborg Ninja Sword - fodder box First I had to make the Firefly head fit on the Namor body. Required tons of dremmeling and carving to get the right fit. The neck on the newer MU figures is very elongated, so I had to dremel deep into the skull to get it to sit right on the neck. Then to get the Moon Knight legs to function properly, I had to keep the Moon Knight hips. The Namor hips just didn't work right with the new legs. So I severed the Namor and Moon Knight bodies at the waist with a hacksaw, then put the Mortal Kombat belt and tunic in place, then Gorilla Glued the whole thing together. Surprisingly the MK Scorpion calves (which I think would look awesome for any SS custom) work really well with MU legs. Just heat with a hair dryer, or boil if you prefer, pop out the pin and swap the parts. Last year some time, I saw where someone used these Ironman feet on a ninja custom. I thought it looked fantastic because the feet have a big toe sculpted in there. Almost like high tech ninja sandals! But to get those feet onto this figures' calves was no easy task. Had to hack them off the IM legs, then sand them down so the ankle was like a skinny post. I dremmeled/drilled up into the Scorpion calves until I got them the right length, and glued the new ankles up inside. The bandage wraps on the arms are just pieces of standard medical tape cut into thin strips and wrapped around the forearms. I drybrushed them with paint to get the white tones to match up. In summation, I refuse to make a custom that doesn't retain, or even add, full articulation. So every joint on every custom I've done is fully functional, fits snugly, and with no paint rub. It's not always easy to do. But in the 2 or 3 years I've been doing this hobby, I think I might be improving a little bit each time. Thanks for reading this, and thanks for giving me all your opinions on my stuff.
