My first custom of the New Year. Never getting a Rowdy Piper when they first came out, I decided to make my own. I want Piper to look more like he did when he wrestled, especially with the "Hot Rod" t-shirt. The logo is hand painted.
Parts: head- Broken Arrow toys Upper torso- Road Block (modified) mid section- Iron Grenadier Destro Upper arms- Ninja Armor Storm Shadow (the one with the spring action) lower arms- Shipwreck hands- found in fodder lot Upper legs- Serpentor lower legs- IG Destro Kilt- Serpentor skirt, random plastic and part from Storm Shadow figure. Basket Hilt Claymore- ROC SDCC Destro IG belt/sash- Iron Grenadier figure AK-47- unknown

Piper is Scottish and would wear a kilt to the ring and to do Piper's Pit.
This is even better than what Jakks (Build n Brawl) or Hasbro put out. |

Thanks for the compliments, glad that everyone likes how this came out. Painting the Hot Rod was painstaking.

i can appreciate the work that went into this, and i am impressed with the technical side of it. I have to admit that i pretty much disregard the subject matter though, as wrasslin' ranks some where up there with competitive nose picking.
The logo is well done, and the accessories are interesting. I think the real gem is the work on the kilt though. On the down side, the torso seems to be splitting, or at least gaping at the shoulder. The body seems a tad large for the head, and the hands don't look right at the wrist...i guess the size difference between the wrists and actual hands. Honestly, i don't think Piper was ever this big.. |
