Hello Tankers
I recently purchased a Planet Hulk Figure and did a "almost" complete repaint, (some touch-ups needed). No tooling or anything, i found the sculpt to be extremely detailed and next to perfect as is. Hulk could be a little taller but not a big deal. Enjoy the pics. Please critique and comment, it only helps improve my skills. Thanx! What you've done here is intriguing, and you definitely have talent, but the wash is a bit too heavy. My Planet Hulk doesn't look nearly as pristine as the one in that top image, and in fact the factory wash on mine is already fairly substantial, but perhaps that varies from figure to figure.
Whatever the case, there's a nice air of menace to your repaint, but he looks more filthy than defined. EDIT: I just took another look at a photo I took of my Planet Hulk figure a few months ago, and apparently I was mistaken; he doesn't have a wash at all; the settings on my camera made him appear darker than he is, and that's what I had in mind. I would still recommend a more delicate approach to this repaint, but perhaps I am in the minority. Last edited by Monte Williams; 12-06-2011 at 01:38 PM.. |

Thank you, the figure i picked up had nice detail but the overall apperance was very mute. Once i have sometime i can correct some areas (the legs mainly). There's alot of details that were missed by the factory, i just wanted to bring out those details. When i was painting the figure i had in mind that i wanted the figure to resemble "comic book art" rather than a realistic approach. I appreciate you kind words, thank you.

Thank you everyone for comments. I will take note and apply to future repaints. I feel the figure does seem "flithy" like "pig-pen" from the charlie brown show, but at the same time, when you re playin in the dirt you dont come out clean. I would know, i grew up the mojave desert.
