What paint brand/color do you guys use for skin tone? Ive used a few different brands and colors but cant find one that looks quite right. Ive seen alot of customs with skin/flesh tones that match pretty close to Hasbros, just curious as to what they were. Anyway any help is appreciated in my hunt for the right colors. Thanks

I use a couple of different things, depends on the custom and my mood. For the majority of 12" figures I do, I use liquitex acryil deep portrait pink as a base color, taupe as a wash and a mix of deep portrait pink and sandalwood as a highlight. For a lot of smaller figures, I use Tamiya's flesh as a base and citadel's sepia wash for, well, the wash.

I HATE, and I mean HATE mixing colors, especially for skin tones. I end up wasting so much its not even worth it. Always turns out to pinkish or way too pale.

Just as an example, this one was done with Tamiya base, Citadel wash (though it may have been flesh wash which is darker than the sepia wash) and a light drybrushing of my mixed Liquitex deep portrait pink and sandalwood.

I like how that looks. But on my small Joes I like them to mix in well with the factory ones. Im definitly gonna try that combo out though. Thanks for the pic.

I usually mix fleshtone paint with varying amounts of brown and occassionally orange. It's really my least favorite part of customizing be it the little guys or the big ones. And don't get me started on trying to match fleshtones to factory paint, that can be a real headache!

i think the biggest problem is that Hasbro won't stick to one skin tone...
