Nice! This is the Breaker I've been waiting to see. The color is a little dark (I'll just assume it's my crappy monitor though), and there's a little beard-detail in the toon that sets him apart from Clutch, but overall it's a nice job. I hope mine looks that good when I get around to it.

Ok, bear with me on the paint/colors. I started with a base color called Confederate Gray by Scioto Opaque stains (it covers and cleans just like acrylic and wouldn't be surprised if that is what it is. I've used some of these for years to paint miniatures). I then added black (Apple Barrel Plaid, I believe) until I was satisfied with the darkness of the gray. I often mix my own colors and store them in small, airtight plastic containers so that they can be used again.

I thought about using the 5-pack Snake Eyes for the body... somewhat similar in color... of course the arms would still need to be painted.

You just painted the Breaker head with a beard right? Or did you use the Clutch head?
Sorry, I can't tell. I've been looking for a custom with a Clutch head, and I haven't seen one. It seems to make absolute sense, since that's what the original used. I still have yet to open a Clutch, but I may eBay a loose 1 or 2 so I can get a toon-accurate Breaker. Ditto on using the 5-pack Snake Eyes' body, I was thinking the same thing... Only have to deal with those damned arms... I hate painting if I don't have to... Looks good, btw. I would much rather have a toon-accurate one (or original toy-accurate version) with the full beard, not that chin-strap silliness. |
