Great idea! The 30th Sci-Fi head would work well for an astronaut.

The only thing that I object to is call this an LBC - you did more than just swap parts!
Looks great - I want one! I'll have to dig through my parts bin tonight I think. |

Awesome idea. Sometimes the simple stuff is the more effective idea!

I might snag this idea for a Doc custom in a hazmat suit. Try to paint him up in that nasty medical green and he should be ready to find a cure to "Compound Z."

Thank you for the kind words.
And I'll be keeping the air tanks, that's why I kept the "nubs" they attach to. I didn't want to alter him premanently in case I wanted to switch him back. |

And that's why I keep saying Hasbro needs to make 1 ME 1987 Payload figure. Give us 1 friggin astronaut figure & the customizers can take it from there. Right now we don't have much to work with. |

Agreed! One day when the cruelest of the toy gods decides to bestow a boon upon us perhaps....until then I see no gifts from hasbro other than kit-bashes and repaints.

Nice vision man!
I imagine it in light-blue and red... to make him more cobra and astronaut like. But yours really turned out great. |

"I had to use a small piece of black craft foam to extend his collar and give the helmet something to grab on to."
You sir are disqualified from the ranks of the LBC! Seriously, though, I love what you've done here. And I concur, we definitely need at least one Joe astronaut figure at retail. I like the retro helmets so much that I want the figure of Queen Marlena (He-Man's mom) and that uber-expensive Buck Rogers figure from Go Hero. |
