Sweet! I love the colors and the pattern. I wouldn't mind if Hasbro re-released the Whales with this deco.

the only cast pieces on it are the Cannon Tips and the Missile Box Arms. Those always seem to either be the most missing part or broken parts when it comes to Whale. At some point I plan on casting both Vane pieces and the link bar just so I can make parts for my customs without having to use the Original pieces.

i know full well the rarity of those parts. i have three incomplete whales and one complete, mostly because of those parts. i agree with your philosophy of casting, cast rare parts to use you have, to use on others for customizing. this has been roiling in my mind for a long time. what do you think about dental techniques applied to casting? i can't remember the product, but it's the same product that is used in casting crowns. from what i hear it allows a lot of detail and is inexpensive. |

Heres a pic of my 2 part mold I made for the Missile Box Arm and cannon tip so you can get an idea

wow, thanks for the tips! a two part mold is a great idea. it seems like you could turn any idea into reality, depending on how much you want to spend. i actually have a lot of 2 part resin i use for boat building, i wonder if that would work.
again, nice whale paint job. i love the fusion paint. the lighter tiger stripes are a cool touch and are blended great. |

As always, I love your work. I look forward to seeing a Devilfish to round out your navy.
