I’ll probably never stop picking at the design for this guy.
My original intention was to pay tribute to the Sigma 6 Tunnel Rat. I bought the unproduced Rise of Cobra Arctic Duke just for the head-with-a-snowcap, but I keep tinkering with the design... Along the way, I created a second Tunnel Rat that pays tribute to the Real American Hero figure (to some degree): JoeDios - JoeDios Dioramas, Photos, collections, Reviews & Files - Too Literal-Minded? And now the Renegades version is on the horizon, and he’s one of the coolest figures I’ve ever seen, so maybe I’ll have a subgroup called The Tunnel Rats, or something. Here's another version: Here's a shot of some of the gear I've used for more than one of my various versions of Tunnel Rat: EDITED TO ADD RECIPES: There are too darn many different versions to list, but the bodies are, in order: Rise of Cobra Wal-Mart-Exclusive Two-Pack Tunnel Rat Rise of Cobra Wal-Mart-Exclusive Two-Pack Gung Ho Pursuit of Cobra Beachhead Resolute 7-Pack Zartan The head is taken from the pre-production Rise of Cobra Arctic Duke figure. I like to think this is one of the more badass Duke figures out there:

Another simple head-swap, resulting in the world's first post-ironic, post-feminist arsonist, Blow-Up Doll:

This guy was once known simply as Wolf, 'cause he's a two-fisted beer drinker who cares more about bird-doggin' chicks than fightin'.
Then he invented time travel, and now they call him Wherewolf. (My daughter made the little house). EDITED TO ADD RECIPE: Body: Rise of Cobra Breaker; I added black gloves from some figure or another Head: UK Harry Potter Sirius Black Vest: Indiana Jones Mutt Last edited by Monte Williams; 07-11-2014 at 11:11 PM.. |

Cobra Commander placed an implant in this man's brain; if Cobra Commander dies, so does his bodyguard. "What if you die of natural causes?" the bodyguard asks. "I wouldn't let that happen, if I were you," replies the Commander. EDITED TO ADD RECIPE: Body and Head and Helmet: Resolute 7-Pack Alley Viper Vest Thing: Same combo I used for Sci-Fi: modified Resolute 7-Pack Zartan webgear thing with a Suitcase o' Cash Destro belt Belt: They've used this belt for several figures; I don't remember where this specific one comes from I didn't realize until I posted the recipe that this is pretty much an Alley Viper, ha ha ha. I often take figures apart and mix the parts back and forth between several different customs; by the time I used all these pieces for this guy, I had no idea I'd basically put the original figure back together. Too funny. Last edited by Monte Williams; 07-11-2014 at 11:12 PM.. |

The head is from a Hermione figure available only in the UK; Wherewolf's head is Sirius Black. Other uses for the head: EDITED TO ADD RECIPE: Body: Resolute 7-Pack Scarlet Head: UK Harry Potter Hermione Belt: Rise of Cobra General Hawk Last edited by Monte Williams; 07-11-2014 at 11:13 PM..
