I really, really wanted to love this movie. But when I saw that they made the movie more like Sky Captain and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen -- with super hi-tech weapons, cars, and planes -- instead of focusing on the tech of that era, and Capt's original origin, I was pretty disappointed. I'm glad they didn't have Captain America fighting Alien Nazis like they did with Ultimate Avengers...that would have really killed it for me.
One thing that I did absolutely love, was the Rescue Mission uniform. I would have loved to seen more of it, and Capt. American kicking Nazi **** in it. Oh well. Bummed Hasbro hasn't made one, I decided to make my own. Not screen accurate (I used the fodder I already had), but I'm pretty happy how he turned out. I also thought it would be fun to have Bucky more soldier like..I dunno, maybe this is what he could have looked like if they decided to give him a real costume. Every hero needs a secret identity, which is why Bucky is rocking a balaclava. Comments and critiques always welcome! Last edited by DaBooma; 10-04-2012 at 09:41 PM.. |

Love them!
Whats the recipe? I got a good guess, but I'd love a list to copy. I gotta argue about the movie...it was a bit sic fi...but we loved it. But I gotta agree this was the best uniform and sequence of the movie. |

I was so dissapointed with the Hasbro produced movie line. This would have been an easy buy for me. You did excellent work here! Hasbro has a good excuse to revisit this when Cap 2 comes out, if they just throw a simliar figure int he line we will know it came from cap 1.
I can't place the feet, what are they?

This is just perfect. Hasbro seriously dropped the ball not making this Cap an the Howling Commandos.

Great work on this figure!
Not to argue, but I loved the movie. It wasn't 100% the comics origin, but it did well enough. Loved the tech shown in the movie, and the truth is, the Nazis were into all kinds of crazy things- hence the set-up for Raiders of the Lost Ark. The plane Red Skull escapes in was built but there is no record it ever flew. Hasbro totally blew it on the Cap toys- no Howling Commandoes, and they should have had Cap in at least three forms- the hero version (which they did), the rescue version, and maybe a Rogers in a military uniform. Would've liked to see a movie Bucky and Agent Carter, Red Skull's car, the German trucks/light tanks, Cap's cycle and the Hydra sub. |
