This is my first modern style custom... built entirely as an exercise to test some of the methods found in this forums tutorials. this represents the first time I swapped knees, forearms, customized a head and use paint apps like washes. I learned from the mistakes I made on this figure...
Recipe Head... POTF Grand Moff Tarkin cut and drilled Torso and upper arms... 25th Wild Bill Hands... 25th Wild Bill Upper legs and knees... ROC Duke Fore arms... 25th Cobra Flint Lower legs and feet... 25th Tiger Force Duke Belt... misc. webgear from figure lot Hope you like it, constructive criticism and tips are more then welcomed. GI Joe Gunsmith
Code Name: Bolt Action File Name: Powell, Bernard F. Primary Military Specialty: Weapons Builder/Repair Specialist Secondary Military Specialty: Sniper Birthplace: Gainesville, Florida Bolt Action was an infantryman and sharp shooter for the Army in his younger years. After his tour of duty, he opened a gun shop selling and repairing rifles for the local deer hunters when his talents for building custom firearms was discovered by GI Joe team member Low Light. At the time, the Joes felt they had the best fire arms builders available... until they were shown otherwise. Bolt Action was recruited on the spot. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bolt Action is a little out of the age range for frontline action... a lot of the Joe team joke that he is older then most the Generals they take their commands from... but when the time comes for an extra man to be lying in the brush giving cover fire, the old man is as trusted as anyone else! |

Thanks... next one I do will get a base coat and a base color before assembly, and I will sand down seams and fill gaps. My biggest disappointments with this figure is that when I move his arms, the shoulders chip. I don't play with them, they will be for display only, but I wanted to take more pics of him in differnt poses.

Ive often wondered whod the armorer would be in the Joe Verse. If you did too, makes sense that would be your first ME custom.
And I like what you did here, he looks like an armorer type. About the shoulder chipping there are a few methods around it . .. assuming you get comfortable cracking torsos you can smooth down the shoulder joint, or you could paint the torso the color of the joint, or you could look at how Hasbro uses two different colors on those parts and say Eff it. I wouldnt have busted your balls on your chipping issues if you put him in different poses for your first ME custom thread. So I say do it, show us what you got. (Fix it later) :p
