Thanks guys! I really didn't expect to get this many comments since so many tankers have already done this guy. Really, I just copied (with one small change) Clifsteele's recipe. Check it out:
Figures Custom LEATHERNECK by CliffSteele - HissTank.com - G.I. Joe As for the Mutt jacket, it was a close approximation, but came with the knife on the opposite side.

Hey Turner, thanks for the shoutout. This looks great! It's interesting that you went with a more symmetrical camo pattern much closer to the original than mine. It's sort of like seeing what mine could have looked like. Did you cut into the head at all or just hollow out the hat? I cut chunks out of the head on mine to get the hat just where I wanted it. As far as paint-matching goes, it's kind of a modern theme in general to go with darker shades than the original firgures so yeah, I went darker w/ mine as well. I feel the darker colors work better with the figures we have now. Nice touch w/ the holster too!

Thanks man, after seeing yours I wanted to do it myself. And because the recipe was done it was fun instead of the usual work that can come with these things. As for cutting the head, I don't remember for sure, and I sent it to a friend of mine so I can't check. I remember trying to avoid that by dremmeling the hat interior as much as possible, but it seems like I had to cut it after all.
