Not sure if anyone has tried this yet- I bought the figure just so I could see if it looked cool or not. Got lucky; I think it looks freakin' awesome if I do say so myself. For just a simple headswap it works pretty well. The colors are a perfect match. The helmet is a shinier plastic than the satiny finish of the figure, but so what? In real life you wouldn't expect a metal helmet to match a fabric uniform perfectly- And hell, if it really, really bugs me, a little dullcote on the helmet will make it match even more.
Thought I would share. Enjoy. Last edited by In Like Flint; 08-30-2011 at 10:50 AM.. |

Thanks! Something about it reminds me of his comic appearances, when he was colored darker. Pretty much any cobra commander figure I can stick the larger head and helmet on instantly becomes my favorite. The pin headed one was cool when the 25th line came out, but this is a much better sculpt and has better proportions compared to the rest of the body. Even though this is an older 25th sculpt and has gangly legs and the permanent fist, I still like it.

Thanks man! I love it when a good plan comes together. Or an LBC headswap.

I did the same as soon as I got the figure as well as another tanker. Great minds think alike.

I posted another pic cuz I realized the gold chain was actually upside down. I had to carefully pull it out of the cape and then reattach it. Now the cobra insignia aren't inverted. |
