After a little delay, I'm back on track for working on my POC versions the Original 13. This time, it's Zap. Nothing too tricky to this one--a basic POC Snake Eyes body, a Shock Trooper/Steel Brigade vest, and a Zap head. I must say that I really like that Zap head a LOT better with a repaint. I realize that the pockets on his belt are a different color. I hadn't noticed that I used the wrong paint until after I took the pictures, but I do plan to fix it. Other than that, I might try to come up with a different pack (the one I used for POC Grunt would be great).

I'd like to extend a great big thanks to several members who sent me stuff: devildawg for the extra Dusty helmets, Outbackk for the 25th Zap, and Aly for the SMAW. Next in line will probably be Hawk, as long as I can find a decent head (the heads already used for Hawk figures seem quite small on the SE body). After that, things might get a bit more difficult because I haven't quite come up with complete parts for the rest. Recipe: - head: 25th Zap - helmet/goggles: POC Dusty - body: POC Snake Eyes - vest: Shock Trooper - pack: 25th General Hawk - SMAW: Broken Arrow Toys - extra canisters: POC Steel Brigade/25th Zap

that is definitely a bad-ass update. It doesn't really "feel" like Zap to me without his 'stach (I know he was just a re-use of Grunt/GrandSlam but I just always associate him with his card-art picture with the little mustache.) but for a modern re-make of what his original figure actually looked like, dang nice job!

I use Testors Model Master acryl paints. This particular color is a mix I made to get a closer resemblance to his original coloration.

Great update! Modern gear but still true to the original spirit of the character.
