Hello everyone!
I have been browsing this website for years but somehow never got around to registering until a few days ago, so I wanted to take the opportunity to contribute a bit with a some custom work I have done. I will post up a few more customs in the following days on seperate threads. All of my customs are classic style O-ring ARAH figures and vehicles. I have been collecting Joes since 1982 and customizing for near as long, and currently have several big projects under way. This Alley-Viper is from a project were I am attempting to make each figure resemble their card art picture as much as possible. In most cases this amounts to adding in a few missing paint applications, but in a few cases I have modified the figure slightly, such as with this one. Alley-Viper on his card had much more blue on his uniform in large jagged patches, and it was much darker. The faceplate was also completely different and needed to be modified, luckily I had an old battered figure with broken visor pegs to use. The new visor was added with sculpting putty. The completed head on a body with original paint. This shows the difference in the original neon blue and the darker more card accurate shade. Alley-Viper "card-art style" I don't want to bog things down with too much text so if anyone wants to read up on the full details of each project the pic in my signature will take you to my gallery. |

Very nice work.. Love the recolor project.. If some of those figures came in those colors, i would have bought more of them. I like how you repainted the Toxo-viper to match the BAT paint scheme. I also like how you kept the drivers close to the colors of the other driver and pilots in which they probably got promoted through.
Two thumbs up all around.. I'm sure I could say more, but I figure I would leave it as is. All of it was an improvement.

Very coo pitty its ARAH but I always loved the artwork AV more then the figure in fact I remember that when I took it out of the pack I was kind of disapointed the helmet wasn't working like the artwork. I've been planning on doing this on a 25th AV but can't find a spare one so far.
