Hey- I was inspired by articulated comics over at and made my own GI JOE Renegades Coyote. This is my first custom job ever, and I think it turned out well. I used a Iron Man 2 Rolling Battle Headquarters, which can be found on clearance all over my area (Saint Paul, MN) and some spray paint. Check it out.

What spray paint did you use? Did you have to do much taking apart? My son loves the Coyote and I would love to do this for him. He uses one of those scale firetrucks that lights up and make sounds as a Coyote...ha.

Hey folks! Thanks for your comments. Supermanblue: Articulate comics used Krylon Fusion for Plastics Camouflage color for his vehicle. I used Krylon Fusion Khaki. I used 2 cans of the spray paint, which is probably a bit more than I needed.
Take apart the vehicle isn't bad. The front cockpit cover, right side door and left and right panels on the top snap off. I also used a screw driver to take off the screws that held the cannon on top and the bracket it attached to, as well as the small clasp mechanisms on where the top cover and cockpit covers come together in vehicle mode. |

That will look great when the Renegades figures come out. I doubt Hasbro will ever make a Coyote. Maybe they will see this and be inspired too.

Part of me hopes so as well, but I wouldn't want Hasbro to get Lazy and just do a Repaint of the IM vehicle...I'd like to see a new vehicle (maybe SDCC suprise?)

Cool. I was considering picking up one of these from ROSS and repainting/refurbishing it for a Cobra transport. I was concerned about how easy it would be to disassemble to paint without breaking stuff. You've assuaged my fears and show a nice clean paint job.
