Here is my second attempt at SerpentO.R. from the G.I. Joe vs. Transformers Comics.
I wanted to improve on the paint and I really wanted him poseable. I used Magic Sculpt and that worked out well! For the paint job, I first painted him in solid non-metallic colors. Then I went back and dry-brushed him using some awesome paints I found. They are from DecoArt, their called Dazzling Metallics. I have more pics and some work-in progress shots on my site: http://www.joeamaro.net/Serpentor.html |

Nice job, now you just need to let me cast it!
Seriously, those metallic paints look good. Right now I use the two step method with Tamiya Clear Yellow over gold, but these seem to look less candy coated. |

I tend to work about 5 minutes at a time, and keep coming back every 15 minutes or so. And which series is he from? Quote:
Oh I love Tamiya's clear colors! That clear yellow is great, and I used the Clear Blue on a Robocop kit years ago...worked great.

Thanks for the comments!
I usually mix the clay and let it stand for about 15 minutes. Then I apply it to the area I am sculpting and rough out the shape. I water to smooth it out. Now I wait at least 45 minutes. Now I really clean it up. After about a hour I can really add some detail as the clay is hardening. I too love Tamiya paints! But for this one I hand painted him. |
