couple of details you have wrong. Shipwreck is a Chief, so he wouldn't have shoulder boards, he would have the chief pin on his collars; the rating insignia should be on his left arm, not his right; and he wouldn't have gloves with this uniform. this type of uniform for enlisted men is a working uniform, not a dress uniform.
he also needs his ribbons on the left breast. The original Shipwreck was a Chief, and was wearing dungarees with a dixie cup which were NOT the working uniform for chief petty officers at the time, but Hasbro still used it. So from that perspective its precedence in design and poetic license to use whatever he wants, because much like Chuck Norris, Shipwreck is bad ass enough to wear whatever the hell he wants and they better be appreciative he wore anything at all to a damned formal shindig!

Couple of details YOU have wrong: Chief petty officers do not wear sleeve rank insignia with summer working whites. They ONLY wear collar devices. Also, chiefs do wear summer whites as a dress uniform, and khakis for their working uniform. The only uniform they wear sleeve insigia with is dress blues on the sleeve of the coat., and on peacoats.
The original Shipwreck was a Chief, and was wearing dungarees with a dixie cup which were NOT the working uniform for chief petty officers at the time, but Hasbro still used it. So from that perspective its precedence in design and poetic license to use whatever he wants, because much like Chuck Norris, Shipwreck is bad ass enough to wear whatever the hell he wants and they better be appreciative he wore anything at all to a damned formal shindig! also, Hasbro may have used poetic license on dressing him in his original uniform, but they didn't take license on the actual uniform, so your argument holds no merit -- it was a correct uniform on the incorrect pay grade. huge difference between the two that you are confusing but shouldn't have been difficult to see. this is an incorrect uniform. Hasbro has only one other instance of actual military uniform on the characters, dress Gung Ho, and that uniform was correct, so when it comes to Hasbro using actual military uniforms, the uniforms are correct. dressing the characters in unique garb in no way equates to taking liberties with the representation of actual military uniforms. |

looks good, atip for white, which is somewhat annouying cause it means you have tostart with it as your basecolour, is to use a white undercoat spray can to apply it evenly. My first custom was custom roc storm shadow, applying the white would have been so much easier had i of used a spray can.

Very cool!!!
Side question - Do you ever use primer? I used a white primer on a figure and I only needed 1 or 2 coats of white after the primer.
