I've started posting the figures I had been working on and finished at various points during the B.O.S.S.'s development.
First of them to be posted in his own thread is Dr. Mindbender I will be steadily posting the other completed figures: Road Pig, Dreadnok B.A.T., Zarana, Zandar, Cobra Mortal & Volga. Here is the updated WIP list. If I can squeeze in the time, I'm going to post in progress pictures. Current Figure Project list: Mayday Burnout Cherry Darling Pyroclasm Thrasher Arctic Destro Heavy Metal Snow Serpent Specialist I DO take commissions. Since I've been getting lots of PMs after Money-B posted the Cobra de Aco I did, I thought I'd post telling you how you go about getting a commission done: PM me the character you want done. If I don't have a recipe you *might* need to link me to one. I'll give you a price depending on the amount of work needing to be done. (This is for my time, supplies and return shipping.) I will also give you an estimate of time. You supply the parts needed. Although I prefer payment up front, you don't need to pay until I'm ready to ship it back to you. However, if you choose that option, you must pay within three days of notification, or you give up any claim to the commission. (and lose the parts) If I have to locate the parts, your price will be higher. If you can offer to send me a figure or vehicle I'd like in addition to the parts, I may forgo all or part of the fee. (One way to do this would be to send whole figures instead of just the parts. Fodder is valuable to me.) If I'm making something I've never done before, I'll send you an in-progress picture. Once done, you'll get a picture of the finished commission. I'll provide you with a DC # when it ships. When you receive it, I would appreciate you sharing it with others on the board. Here is my other entry that was supposed to be in the contest.
Steel Cobra (aka Cobra de Aço) Some foreign Joe figures were creative, or at least very odd. This guy seems to be a favorite. I made some design tweaks, such as painting his belt instead of leaving it black and giving him a prominent cobra emblem on his chest. Like the rest of the figure, the emblem was hand-painted. Head: Snake Eyes (like it really matters which one) Chest, Arms, Torso, Upper Legs, Feet: Grand Slam (It's the same as Sgt. Flash, only much more cost effective.) Lower Legs: Tomax Backpack/Weapon: Sgt. Flash (Much more cost effective than buying the whole figure.) Model Master Acryl: Insignia Yellow,Guard Red & Gun Metal Citadel Colors: Steel (Might be Boltgun) As noted earlier, in order to use Snake Eye's head on Grand Slam or Sgt. Flash, you will need to either modify the head or the neck post. I opted for extending the neck post. It wasn't too hard. 1- Cut the neck off at the base. 2- Glue the two halves of the neck back together. 3- Drill a small hole in the neck and the shoulders. 4- Glue an extension into the neck and shoulders. (I prefer using a nylon screw. IMO, it's a bit stronger and allows me to twist until proper depth is achieved.) 5- Add a little epoxy around the gap to shape the neck. 6- Let it set.
