nice work.
I pre-ordered the FF/SS comic pack for the more accurate FF. you'll have to take pics of yours next to the comic pack firefly and the wave 3 version for comparison. also, you ought to use your skills and see what you can do about getting a white shirt on that comic pack SS torso. i'd love to see that fig fixed. |

Yay, Firefly without a Beachhead body and arms! That is the reason I passed on him when he was first released. I hated that so much. Yours looks great, and I wish I could do that to mine.

That is incredible looking. I like that FF sooo much! If I get the nerve to try a camo pattern I'm going to have to steal your recipe.

Kudos, Bro!! Best Firefly to date. I would have gladly skipped the wave 3 version for this one. Hopefully Hasbro learns from this as an example!

yeah but the parts used for this custom werent made yet when wave 3 was put on shelves. not even a shimmer in hasbro's eyes.
just bad timing, really. that is a bitchin custom though. serious kudos on that. comic pack FF doesnt even hold a candle to it. its actually more of a re-imagined FF anyway. i have enough vipers that i'm tempted to try that. or maybe something else i've got in mind... more on that later.

Thanks so much for the kind words, everyone! It really is appreciated, and encourages me to do more I would have taken comparisson pics with the 25th Firefly figure, but, well, he sacrificed his legs to make this custom possible. When I get the new 2 pack, I'll be sure to do just that though.
I'm not too big on much when it comes to DD's Joe world, and that Storm Shadow costume was never one of my favorites. But I have been kicking ideas around in my head on how to make the figure more accurate. It was a pretty simple to do, all in all. I think the trickiest part was due to the fact that it was the first time I had ever disassembled a 25th figure, so along with the guides I was learning as I went. Painting the camo pattern was actually the most fun (and easy), but time consuming. I actually followed the pattern on the original figure as best as I could. And the good thing is even if you mess up, it'll look fine anyway. Only thing I hate is, I'm a horrible photographer ;) The paint is a little darker in person than in the pics, since the flash really brightened up the figure. I'll try to take a couple outside tomorrow in natural light. But thanks again everyone, hopefully everything goes as well with my next one.... |

Great job on Firefly. I actually like the Firefly figures released so far, but yours is phenomenal...
