I really like both of your FF's!!! But I chose the arctic one just because it's something a little different. The blue one turned out great, especially the accessories, but the arctic one is more unique to me.

Really? Enamel? All the stuff I have read has told me to avoid it on figures, any tips on using them? And the Top Coat, how durable is it? I have tried a couple of clear coats in the past and all have been a failure. I have one I'm going to have to go back over and repaint due to the clear coat now turning gummy over the past year.

Tips? well...just do not try to paint whole area of the figures, it will take too long time to dry up(you can see this firefly is almost keeping original colors!). For me, the enamel colors are basically for some after effects, like dry brushing and blending. Any other problems on using enamel stuffs? No dry at all? Chipping? Then I'm suggesting you to try some primers. Maybe it helps you. If once dried up normally, enamel is more durable than water based acrylic, from my experience. And top coat issue. Probably those clear coats you tried was not suitable for the figures. I prefer Mr. superclear and Mr. topcoat from GSI creos. Especially Mr. superclear is very durable, but it contains toxic solvent. I don't know if you can get them in your town or not, anyway they haven't caused any problems for me until now. The primers are also useful in this case. |

I've always liked the idea of an occasional Firefly figure in a color scheme a bit closer to a traditional Cobra figure. Good work.

Both are good, but I like the Winter Firefly more.
