First off this is not really a major custom obviously. I am always super impressed by the level of expertise I see these boards.
I love Storm Shadow but wasnt a fan of the Sideshow release. I am fortunate enough to have all the sideshow figures but Storm Shadow was really the only one I wasn't crazy about. I just swapped out Stormy's skinny body with a muscular 1/6 scale body. I also picked up another ninja dagger and placed it on his leg wrap. I had the dagger tucked in his belt at first but i prefer the look of it on his leg more since I felt it breaks up all the white on his lower half. I also placed the sais from the Red Ninja on his belt. I've planned to airbrush the hands so they match the body, also ordered an arashikage tattoo from monkeydepot.com and a pair of nunchaku off of ebay. How do you guys like it (or dont like it) so far? Any suggestions? Last edited by dorian247; 03-21-2011 at 05:07 PM.. |

Thanks, I've been thinking about ditching the sleeves also but i go back and forth on it. I just have them setup at my desk at work. I had them setup at my house but what's the fun if I cant see them all the time. CC, trooper, and sniper will eventually make the trip here.

I think the Sideshow figures look cool but have not purchased any (trying to resist the urge to expand my collecting). While your custom looks cool, I never thought of Stormshadow as looking that buff - always thought of him as leaner. I don't have a reference photo to look at to see the skinnier original body - I'll have to hunt one down. Overall looks good - maybe just a little bulkier than I would expect for SS.
Also - I'm a huge Snake Eyes fan, but lined up with the other figures, his visor mask looks a little... off. I've looked at pics of that figure quite a bit and never felt like the mask worked. What do you think now that you have it in hand? Does it look better in person? |

I replaced the body in mine as well. While I think Strom Shadiw does look a little too buff here, I'm really the 'toon look with the sleeves. Kinda wish I'd done that on mine.

I really like all the gear that Snake Eyes has but I have never been a huge fan of the Snake Eyes with the visor. I always like the googles more. I always thought the goggles give him a more 'realistic' commando look.
In fact the biggest reason I got Snake Eyes was I saw him at a toy convention last year for $89. Eventually I got to a point where I was only missing a couple sideshow figures and slowly ended up getting them all. But you are right my storm shadow does look a little roided up. The body I order was honestly a bit bigger than i thought but I hated the arms on the Sideshow body. |

Tell me about it... ;) I used the Hot Toys Perseus body. You can get it for under $100 on eBay, or buy the whole figure for retail and sell the extras.
Did you use the Redfield body? You can likely sell that for the cost of the Perseus body, maybe more. It's in pretty high demand.
