++++Top Secret++++
Attn: General Hawk From: ResDevDeptCom Casualty: KIA: 12 WIA: 3 MIA: 1 Disaster has struck G.I. Joes research department. GI Joe’s top scientist, codename: Dr. Relativity, had finally finished the Deluxe Omnidirectional Omega Ray Matter Teleporter, or D.O.O.R.Ma.T for short. Unbeknownst to the research team, the teleporter has the ability to tear apart time and space. The multi-dimensional time space vortex, that resulted from the initial test run, killed most of the scientists. Large pieces of bodily tissue having been teleported throughout time. There was no sign of Dr.Relativity or the D.O.O.R.Ma.T. Both are presumed lost. ++++++++++++++++++ Dr. Relativity was not killed. He has been teleported through time. Turns out Cobra has been an underground force of evil since the beginning of time. They are the reason the snake is such a hated creature even til today. Upon discovering this Dr. Relativity gathered the best and brightest heros of good to battle against Cobra. Using his vast 20th century knowledge he arms them with the best equipment he can create. Your job is to create these historic heros and villans. Were the 3 musketeers really Gi Joes? What would caveman skypatrol look like? Did Ace shootdown the Red Baron? The rules are simple. Be a tanker in good standing. All entries must be new. Entries should be posted in this thread. If you create a thread for your custom, post a link in this thread. All entries must meet the posting guidelines of Hisstank. Images will need to be available until the contest end date. The historic characters need to come from a time prior to established Gi Joe continuity. So we will say it must predate the vietnam war. The Contest Ends on Feb 5th. The Grandprize for this contest is: 1: A one of a kind modern era sculpted head of Dr. Relativity from Bill Merklein. (pictures will be available when the sculpt is finished.) This well known historical scientist will be quite unique in anyones joe collection. Thus the winner will get to return Dr. Relativity to his own reality, to bring him to life as they see fit for their Joe-verse 2: Larry Hama will write up a filecard for the winning entry and Gunslingcbr will create it for the winner In a slight change from our previous contests the grand prize will go to the top skiled entry. However slaughterhouse is for everyone. We have 3 more categories that can be entered by anyone no matter the skill level. 1: Creat a diorama or battlescene where any of the 90’s era neon camo actually works. i.e. Alley Vipers raid a rave 2: Create a Joe/Cobra character themed toy without using any GI Joe parts. This can be any scale. How close it resembles a 3 3/4" hasbro joe is up to you. Dressing a 12” doll up as a joe isn’t very creative. Making a littlest pet shop Scarlet cat or Cobra Viper potato head is creative. 3: Kids have all the fun. Get your kids to make a custom, preferable following one of our themes. Photographic evidence of the kids at work is required PrizesL One of a kind custom head sculpted by Bill Merklein (The head is Dr. Reality) One of a kind custom filecard written by Larry Hama and produced by our own Gunslingrcbr A Red Shadows Roboskull w/ TWO POC Alley-Vipers A Dreadnok Ground Assault Jeep w/ TWO POC canceled green Range-Vipers. A kids prize to be announced later We have a new twist. Since the overall contest will be going on for almost 3 months. To keep the excitement up Gyre or myself will be presenting Slaughterhouse challenges. These will be shorter termed events for various prizes. So keep an eye on this thread. ________________________ And Now a Message from Gyre-Viper: Hello Everyone. First things first… I’d like to take a moment to thank Larry Hama and Bill Merklein and Gunslingercbr for providing some insanely generous and wonderful prizes. With the Slaughterhouse contests, we’ve always strived to provide fantastic or unexpected prizes. Last time we tried to cater to both collectors and customizers, and this time is no different… but I believe we’ve definitely amped it up this time. Mr. Hama was very happy to contribute a prize, especially for Hisstank.com. Mr. Hama seems to be very fond of this site and that can be attributed in part, I’d assume, to his fans (all of you) here on Hisstank.com. Mr. Merklein was also very happy to sculpt a one-of-a-kind head for the contest… and even though he’s never been to this site… nor any other joe site… he hears about the community through me and is very honored by the enthusiasm that some of you have for his ARAH sculptures. And as for Mr. Gunslingercbr, we are very excited to have him on board. Most of you should be familiar with his customs, and there’s no one we’d rather have helping us to bring Mr. Hama’s prize to life. After I had talked to Mr. Hama, a few of us were trying to figure out how to actually get a file card done and someone mentioned Gunslingercbr and it made so much sense that it’s really the only way we’d want it and so we’re very grateful that it all worked out. So a giant, enormous, unending THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all of them. Second, I would like to thank Swindle (the meerkat formerly known as CdtWeasel) who invented the Slaughterhouse contest and has hosted all of them and whose enthusiasm for Slaughterhouse keeps it alive. As long as Swindle keeps coming up with fun categories and themes, I’ll keep trying to come up with fun prizes. Now onto Slaughterhouse. For those of you unfamiliar with the Slaughterhouse contests… they’re designed so that anyone can at least enter… even if you feel you have NO customizing skills whatsoever. I’ve included links below to previous Slaughterhouse contests and threads. Basically, the idea is to just let go. It’s a chance to exercise your wit or just simple chaos. It’s a chance to be limitless and silly, but still artistic and focused. This time around there’s some more ‘serious’ categories but there’s still room for mutated concepts. So while you may not feel you can enter one of the serious categories (I know I couldn’t)… there’s still categories where someone with absolutely NO experience customizing can enter and possibly win. Obviously, if anyone has any questions… feel free to pm us or use this thread. Good luck everyone and have a blast!!!!!!!! (And as you know, anything can happen in a Slaughterhouse contest, and I while I can’t make any promises, there’s always the off-chance that more prizes [and winners] will find their way into the finale). Fasten your seatbelts… safe time travel is crucial. For those unfamiliar with Slaughterhouse, here are links to our previous contests. http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...s-entires.html http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...n-entries.html http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...e-contest.html http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...e-contest.html

Just for clarification, when you say "historic" this also encompasses literary/fictional historic rather than historic-historic right, i.e. like the 3 Musketeers you mentioned? So, e.g., Jean Val Jean, Capt. Ahab, and Sherlock Holmes, would just be as valid as Nietzsche, Jesus, and Lao-Tzu?
