I haven't been around much lately, just lurking like the old days. But as we head into the holiday season, I'm compelled to give a little something back to this community and hopefully spur a bit of year-end fun. And while I don't post many (any?) customs, I do love seeing the good work that y'all have shared over the years.

So... are there still a few folks interested in a good ol'fashioned custom contest? Let's hope so!

The theme

Yeah that's right, BF2K. (h/t to Griff, I may have copped the idea from his begging Slice to make Blaster. But also they're dope as hell, I don't care what the haters say.)

The criteria
All scales and skill levels are welcome and encouraged to participate. And I do mean ALL. Entries will be judged in 3 areas:

1. CONCEPT: Whether you submit a faithful recreation of an iconic look made entirely of balsa wood, or a complete reinvention for the 21st (or 31st) century. I'm looking for a coherent, clever, or creative concept.
2. CRAFT: Flex your skills (natch), but you can also get points for parts choices and other creatively incorporated materials.
3. PRESENTATION: Haven't yet mastered the brush? No worries mate, me neither. You can still ace this category. Everything from staging and lighting in your pics, to the accompanying text. Tell a story, build a dio, make a filecard... lean into what you're good at, and let it ride.

The prizes
Three prizes, all MOC, one each for o-ring, 4-inch, and 6-inch fans. First prize gets to pick first; second, next; third, last. I'll ship them to you anywhere in the world, so please don't be shy just because you aren't in the US.

How to participate
Post your entry in this thread before Monday, February 3. That's pretty much it. Extra credit for helping to keep the thread active or getting others to participate.

The fine print

• Know that I'm the only judge here and this stuff is inherently subjective and potentially, somewhat arbitrary. It's like, just my opinion, man.
• The prizes are all from my collection overflow, each is MOC and in great shape as far as I can tell. I of course cannot guarantee them, but hit me up if for some reason you (dear winner) aren't satisfied upon receipt and we'll try to work something out.
• I reserve the right to dock points for dickish behavior. I may also give bonus points to folks for just being rad. A little ribbing between friends is good craic, but keep it copacetic.
• Yes, this is a custom contest, but y'all should know that I've got a soft spot for a good kitbash. If, like me, you can't be trusted to paint a wall much less an action figure, that doesn't mean you can't participate.
• Some of y'all have posted excellent BF2K figures in the past. Prior work can definitely be incorporated into your entry, but please bring something new to the table with it.
• I imagine it'll be easier to keep track if you make your submission in a single post, including pics and accompanying description. But as mentioned above, your entire participation may be counted. Miranda style baby.
