Attention fellow Tankers, Shipwreck here!
I had noticed a lot of you guys and gals have mentioned about attending the JoeCon in 2011. Any ideas about a meeting area or maybe some kind of a Booth with our Forum info on it or some kind of a banner for it? Or Some kind of ID tags we can have made up and ordered or such, to Identify who we are, Some of us have never met, and it's become rather family style oriented around here . We should unite and enjoy that weekend. http://www.old-town.com/index.html Here is another Idea for the evening after the con for a great get-together, for entertainment, dining, and for those who like shopping and car-shows! I often go here when we are in orlando. Well worth the trip to go! who knows.. maybe if there is a call for it, I propose a Laser tag game, which they have an arena here at old town for it. C`mon out on friday evening the 1st! More then likely I will be there with my classic car in the show field! A list of names would be great for those who will be attending. ! OR sometime during the weekend prehaps sunday, if everyone interested is leaving on monday following the convention... Also I have another plan As well... On top of the Joecon... There is a place called Combat City that is up there in O-town.. it is an Airsoft battle ground. Some of you I know are into the hobby as I am. It'd be awesome for teams- JOE vs Cobra on the airsoft field. Think of it as a Live Roleplay. Take hold of a team, call sign and enjoy the afternoon of Cons and fun! Let me know who is planning to go. I can find out more information if you guys would like to all gather there for a group game! Ok Dates for the Joecon had been announced, So has the day for the Joecon event. Thursday or Sunday at the standing moment will be 9 am meetup at the airsoft field titled Combat City. Which you can find their address as Combat City in orlando. Can be found on the net. Directions to get from the Dolphin hotel(JoeCon Hotel) to the airsoft field, are below. The trip is around 20 miles to get there, and 20 miles back so around a 40mile round trip, Road to get to and from unfortunately will have tolls on it. So bare in mind. Here's the directions to get to the field. 1500 Epcot Resorts BlvdOrlando, FL 32836 1. Head northeast on Epcot Resorts Blvd 1.2 mi 2. Take the 1st left onto Buena Vista Dr 1.1 mi 3. Take the ramp to I-4/FL-536 0.3 mi 4. Merge onto Epcot Center Dr 0.5 mi 5. Merge onto I-4 E via the ramp to Orlando 5.8 mi 6. Take exit 72 to merge onto FL-528 E toward International Airport/Cape Canaveral Partial toll road 9.1 mi 7. Take exit 9 toward Tradeport Dr/Conway Rd 0.2 mi 8. Merge onto Jetport Rd 200 ft 9. Turn right at Tradeport Dr 1.7 mi 10. Turn right at Express St Destination will be on the left 0.1 mi 3650 Express St Orlando, FL 32827 http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...t-sign-up.html Can't wait to hear back from you! YO JOE!!! See you in March!

Now.. for Airsoft. If you plan on bringing your own rifle, state what it is, and check for local flying with airsoft equipment before this. Those who are in the area, can easily bring their own, if they have. Also they have rentals available at the place I am sure. As for pain factor of an Airsoft gun. Let me put this out on the table right now.. You cannot die from being shot by one. Can you get a welt from some of them? Yes. Being hit in the head is a high possibility. So.. Eye protection is a MUST, also if you breathe with your mouth open, I would suggest a full face mask. unless you like eating BB's made of plastic of course! I've seen people get welts from being shot, but nothing perminant. I will explain rules of engagement to anyone who's interested. Camos are welcome, or jeans and a T shirt.. it all is up to you, the player. However there will be some set rules for this Airsoft game. Hot Topic has Cobra logo shirts. If you plan to play, May want to look up for either a green G.I.Joe Logo shirt(Target) Or Cobra Logo( Hot topic) if You do not have Camo's. Really it is up to the player. If you aren't sure which team you want to play on. We shall eventually have a poll on teams at the con itself. I just want to know who's on board with the Airsoft, and from there I can give more info.

hey... about the airsoft thing..
Suggest it NOW to the club, it can become an official con activity on Wednesday or Thursday before the actual con. (In lieu of a tour) they actually did do this a few years ago. as for flying with airsofts/ I have flown with my airsofts in MY CHECKED bag to 5 joecons now, with no problem. Im talking a desert eagle, MP5K, Uzi, M-16, Barettas, and several other guns. (Well my plastic M-16 broke in transit to Texas) as long as their in your checks ed bags, there is no problem (FAA rules clearly state this if anyone gives you grief) Gas powered or metal airsoft guns ARE subject to inspection, so don't be surprised if your bag is opened. However, don't bring them in you carry on AT ALL!!! you WILL BE STOPPED, ARRESTED, TACKLED, AND GIVEN A ROTER ROOTER BODY CAVITY SEARCH BY SOMEONE FROM A BEAVIS & BUTT HEAD MOVIE.

What may be with me are the following pieces. G&P M203 SnowWolf GBB M9 Tokyo Marui M14 Tokyo Marui Thompson M1a1 Classic Army M4a1 And what ever else I decide needs to go. Airsofts and where to buy? Purchase from the following. Airsoftgi.com AirsoftAtlanta.com TacticalAirsoft.com Redwolfairsoft.com Militaryclothing.com -for camos or check your local Army Navy surplus store. Follow KingofPain's advice. Check in your bags. Do not carry any of them in your carry-on luggage.
